In the longstanding tradition of mystical Jews and lifestyle publications, we bring you New Moon Readings. They aren’t fortune telling or magic, and they’re not about luck or a mysterious power. They draw upon on the wise monthly themes of the Hebrew calendar, the influence of the solar system on our daily lives, and, sometimes, totally pagan prognostication tools (tarot!) to guide us.
What are we opening up to with this new moon and new month of Tevet, the last of the Gregorian year 2017?
The name Tevet shares a root with the Hebrew word “tov,” meaning “good,” and this month really is about revealing the good that is around us. As the lights on the menorah increase, so, too, does our experience of the good in our lives.
The cards this month say:
It’s here.
You have been on the path and you continue on the path. Believe that you arrived at part of the success that you very much desire and that there is even more to come. You are finding it easier to build the structures that you know are successful. You are able to communicate effectively to get them all into place. You have crossed another hurdle.
You can begin to reap what you sow if you know clearly what you want. Open up to the possibility that all you want is coming to you and all you want is possible.
The fruits of your labor are at hand. Let yourself feel the pleasure you deserve right now.
